Paris Saint-Germain Overcomes Marseille on Penalties to Claim Trophee des Champions Super Cup in the Middle East.

Trophy celebration scene

The Parisian club has now claimed the prestigious trophy on 14 separate times.

The Parisian giants needed a dramatic leveler followed by a successful penalty shootout to get past Marseille in the Gulf and secure a fourth straight Trophee des Champions victory.

The European champions seemed to be coasting towards a comfortable win in the showdown between the French league winners and the French Cup holders after Ousmane Dembele opened the net early on.

However, Marseille struck two times in the closing moments to take a shock advantage. Initially, Mason Greenwood converted from the spot-kick, before Willian Pacho unfortunately directed the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a remarkable turn of events, Goncalo Ramos grabbed a crucial leveler in the dying moments to send the contest into a deciding shootout. The Parisian shot-stopper Chevalier then emerged as the hero, saving decisive kicks from O'Riley and Hamed Traore.

From the spot, Goncalo Ramos, the midfielder, the full-back, and the young talent all scored successfully for Paris Saint-Germain to complete a convincing penalty win.

Now 14-time winners PSG, who met last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Olympique de Marseille after completing a domestic double, have now lifted this competition for the 12th time in the last thirteen seasons.
