Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two-time unified boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami venue on 19 December.
Boxer's Mentality
"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Still, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making huge financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Disparity
As the two fighters engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually going ahead.
